King’s Regiment

Step back in time to the 1640s and enjoy a day of living history.

On the 9th & 10th August, The Marquess of Winchester’s Regiment of the English Civil War Society, will re-stage the siege of Picton. The day will include drill displays and the capture of the castle. Meet the Royalist Commander dining in state and explore what life was like for ordinary people at the time in the Military Living History camp. The gardens open at 10 am and the castle at 1.30 pm.

  • Carers (free when accompanying the person they care for)

Please be aware that the event will include firearms so it may not be suitable for those sensitive to loud noises.

This is a fundraising event for the Picton Castle Trust. The event admission applies to all entries on these dates. Season pass holders will need to pay the discounted event admission for access to the site. Free re-visits with tickets purchased in the previous week do not apply on these dates. The membership access schemes for the Art Society, Historic Houses and Gardener’s World 2 for 1, do not apply on the 9th & 10th August.
