Picton Castle & Gardens is the perfect destination for a day out with all the family. Set within 50 acres of gardens, there is plenty of space to explore and discover together.
Explore the Jungle Boardwalk to journey through exotic plants, wander through the maze, and let your imagination run wild at our Adventure Playground. Children can also enjoy free trails around the gardens, activities in the family room, geocaching, and summer lawn games.
Follow the fairy trail in Peach House Woods to discover enchanting fairy houses, providing opportunities to young explorers to learn about nature and wildlife. Please ask for a leaflet at the Ticket Office and return it when completed for a free sticker.
Family Ticket
For the best value, be sure to purchase family admission. This covers two adults and two children aged 5 - 17.
Single family admission is also available, covering one adult and two children aged 5 - 17.
Children under 5 enjoy free admission.

Nature Walk and Seasonal Trails
Take a stroll through Peep-in Woods on a family-friendly nature walk and discover the rich wildlife that calls these beautiful woodlands home.
Along the way you’ll find brass plaques featuring woodland animals, perfect for little explorers keen to solve our engaging nature puzzle. Don’t forget to make rubbings of the plaques, a lovely way to capture your memories and take a little piece of your adventure home.
We have different activities for children in each season of the year. It could be fairy doors in the summer, an autumn trail or a winter welly walk. So there is always a new reason for playing outdoors.
Adventure Playground &
Jungle Walk
Younger visitors will find plenty to enjoy in our exciting adventure play area, designed to spark imagination and encourage active play. Right next door is the lush jungle garden, a vibrant space filled with tropical plants and hidden corners to explore.
Take a journey along the jungle boardwalk, which winds its way through towering plants, creating a sense of discovery around every turn. This immersive trail offers a fun and memorable experience for both children and adults, making it a must visit part of your day.
Geocaching
Geocaching is a global treasure hunting game that combines the thrill of discovery with the great outdoors, and you can join the adventure right here at Picton Castle.
Hidden around our beautiful gardens are four cleverly disguised caches, waiting to be found. To take part, simply download the Geocache app onto your phone or any GPS-enabled device, then follow the clues to track down each secret location.
The caches may look like ordinary woodland items, but inside you’ll find a logbook to record your discovery and the option to share your find online. It’s fun, free, and perfect for all ages!
