We are excited to share that we are gearing up for a vibrant and atmospheric festive season here at Picton Castle Gardens, with a full programme of special events taking place over the coming weeks. From creative workshops to cosy evenings and magical family moments with Santa, our winter calendar is filled with ways to celebrate the warmth, creativity and tradition of Christmas at Picton.
Winter Craft Fair on November 22nd and 23rd
We begin the season with our Winter Craft Fair when local makers, artists and artisan producers will bring the grounds to life with unique gifts, handmade treasures and seasonal treats. It is always one of our favourite weekends of the year and a wonderful chance to support independent craftspeople while enjoying the festive atmosphere around the castle and gardens.
Wreathmaking Workshop on December 6th
Those feeling creative will love this event where you can learn to make your own natural, seasonal wreath using fresh foliage gathered from around Picton. You are very welcome to bring any personal items from home to add your own touches. Please remember to bring secateurs, an apron and gloves.

Christmas by Candlelight on December 18th
For anyone who enjoys a cosy evening, you can explore the castle by candlelight, creating a warm and atmospheric setting to enjoy festive displays, seasonal music and the unique charm of Picton at night. The tour finishes with drinks and festive canapés by the fire in the Great Hall.

Victorian Father Christmas on December 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd
Families can then look forward to meeting Father Christmas at our biggest Christmas event! With sumptuous decorations, an elf door trail through the castle, Christmas crafts in the Family Room, a gift for every child and mulled wine or spiced apple juice for adults by the fireside, it is a truly magical Christmas experience. With Father Christmas in his traditional green and Mother Christmas alongside him, this is a festive treat for all ages.

We encourage visitors to book early for all events except the Winter Craft Fair, as festive activities at Picton are always very popular and our Halloween events sold out within a single day. We look forward to welcoming everyone for another memorable Christmas season.
