Interesting finds from the Library Collection

Since 2022, our Heritage Volunteers have been carefully recording, cleaning, and repairing the books housed in the circular Library at Picton Castle
The Library’s remarkable collection of 17th, 18th and 19th-century books forms an important part of Pembrokeshire’s heritage. To date, more than 2,000 books have been cleaned and recorded. As they worked, the volunteers uncovered a number of fascinating ‘library treasures’ We would like to share some of these finds with you and will be holding an illustrated talk with the volunteers on Thursday, July 2nd in the lecture theatre at Picton Castle, starting at 2.30 p.m. There is no extra charge for the talk over the normal entrance fee for the Castle and Gardens. Light refreshments will be available in the Courtyard Gallery after the talk.

The talk has limited spaces so must be booked. There is no additional charge, however you must purchase general admission to Picton Castle & Gardens to attend. Admission must be purchased online, through our website or at the ticket office on arrival. There is no charge to those with a valid Picton Season Membership or Historic House Association Card. We very much hope you can join us and get some insight into the amazing project our Heritage Volunteers have been involved in for the last few years.
